Bereavement/End-of-Life Issues

I am a principal partner and current Director of Bereavement Services for the non-profit TOV Center. The TOV Center specializes in suicide awareness, prevention, intervention and post-vention. We are often called as part of a team of first responders when an unexpected, traumatic death occurs. We help families and friends begin to create some order from the chaotic aftermath of tragic events. We also offer education and training sessions to individuals and groups.
In contrast to the unexpected, a death that is anticipated offers more time to coach both a dying person and his/her family through the end-of-life and bereavement issues.
My ability to understand and guide others through grief is informed by my having overcome the tragic loss of my young wife to a brain aneurysm years ago. Walking with others through the darkness has become a vital part of my mission.
