Conversion

Picture
With great admiration and respect for those choosing to become part of the Jewish People, I have assisted almost 500 people in finding a Jewish "home" for their soul.

My program of study usually takes one year to complete. It includes reading assignments and opportunities to learn about the Jewish life cycle and calendar. I also encourage everyone to travel to Israel.

I follow Rabbinic Law with regard to conversion requirements. Both males and females study and then appear before a Beit Din (essentially, a Jewish court). They also go to a mikvah for a ritual immersion. An uncircumcised male must also have a brit milah (circumcision). If a male is already circumcised, a physician draws a drop of blood from him in my presence to symbolize his entrance into the Abrahamic Covenant.
